Gordon was the driving force behind bringing engraving while you wait to NZ. This was his “ah-ha moment” – he discovered a gap in the NZ market for clients to get branded uniforms in less than 10 days. So Gordon teamed up with Liz and Direct Group Uniforms was formed in 2007.

They started out in a small office in the back of a car yard in Te Rapa, Hamilton and set out together in a shared vehicle with a catalogue of 20 items to the people of Hamilton. Soon demand was so high that they had to hire additional sales reps, and eventually purchased their own embroidery business (StitchIt Embroidery) which was the pivotal point in cementing the now industry standard of 5 day turnaround for uniforms.

 

Now with a thriving staff of 32, a branch in Auckland and Head Office in Hamilton, Gordon, and Liz have opened the doors of Australasia largest apparel showroom. Direct Group services over 4000+ clients nationwide and now offers you over 50,000 items of apparel, sportswear, sports gear, promotional merchandise.
